While on a mission to Berlin out of Kimbolton, England, was shot down by enemy aircraft and crashed on a farm, 8 miles southwest of Eberswalde, Germany, northeast of Berlin.
Three crewmembers were killed and six survived. Missing Air Crew Report № 5320.
KIA were:

Sgt. George F Taylor, 37507440, MO, Waist Gunner
Sgt. Russell G Vinson, 37558503, MN, Tail Gunner
Crewmembers from three other B-17 flights that were lost on May 24, 1944 were interred in a common grave here on December 11, 1951:
